After months of planning, Columbus' first ever Local Foods Week is almost here! Sponsored by Local Matters, you'll be glad to hear that in the coming days, there will be a multitude of ways to support Local Matters, gather with your community and satisfy your sweet tooth! Feels good, don't it?
Allow us to walk you through the week, highlighting opportunities to score a scoop of Salty Caramel:
The week will be kicked off on October 3rd with the Market to Market Breakfast Ride. Starting at either the North Market or The Hills Market, cycle along the bike path from one market to the other! Either way, you can bookend your day with Jeni's - a scoop comes with the price of admission!
We know you're going to Gallery Hop anyways later that evening and probably stopping by Jeni's for a sundae - so be sure to look for Jeni at our shop in the Short North. She'll be signing people up for the 1000 Friends of Local Matters promotion. More on this in a later post.
Fast forward to October 6, when Jeni will host a Cow to Cone kitchen tour! I have good news and bad news ... good news - it's already full! Which means a lot of financial support for Local Matters. Bad news - it's already full, which means a lot of you are missing this. We're thinking about trying to host another tour later sometime ... we'll keep you posted. And we promise to post photos of the fun.
On October 8, you're invited to the Local Foods Fall Family Fun Dinner at the Hills Market. Not sure what they're serving for the main course, but I know it'll be yummy and I also know they're serving our ice cream to the kiddies for dessert.
Well, that about does it for your Jeni's ice creams opportunities during Local Foods Week. Get out th'house and soak up all the events. And, you can check out Local Matters for more opportunities and the details.
