Don't expend all your energy this Halloween weekend. You have another party to attend from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 3 at Middle West Spirits, 1230 Courtland Ave.
That's right. In celebration of our new flavor Oakvale Young Gouda with OYO Vodka-Plumped Cranberries, Jeni's will be at the Columbus micro-distillery, along with Middle West founders Brady Konya and Ryan Lang, members of the staff at London's Oakvale Farmstead Cheese and, if we're all fortunate, Warren Taylor, the enthusiastic man behind Snowville Creamery in Meigs County.
Jeni's' crack staff will be serving up scoops of the good stuff, a flavor that anchors our new Foggy Mountain Holiday Collection (avail. online Monday Nov. 1; in stores Friday Nov. 5). Middle West will dole out samples of its pristine OYO vodka, a spirit that takes its name from the American Indian name for the Ohio River Valley ("oh-WHY-oh"). Oakvale's people (and, we hope, Snowville's Taylor) will dish about their grade-A dairy products.
Hungry (and with wallet)? Columbus' Clever Crow Pizza will serve up its killer, handmade cornmeal sourdough pizza and Foodie Cart will be slingin' its Japanese-style crepes.
And--my this post is turning into an infomercial of sorts--That's! Not! All!
Be there at 7 on the dot to catch a set by the fabulous Salty Caramels, a stellar Columbus acoustic-folk-pop trio that recently has been in the studio (singing about the joys of eating Jeni's Ice Creams we hope).
So, come on out. Introduce yourself. Let's start November the right way: with handmade ice cream built with three unique Ohio ingredients: Oakvale Young Gouda, Oyo Vodka and Snowville cream.
See you there.
