As of today, select Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams pints will be arriving in all 17 Heinen’s Fine Foods in Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
The lineup: Sweet Potato with Torched Marshmallows; Cocoa Zin; Goat Cheese with Cognac Fig Sauce; Riesling Poached Pear; Salty Caramel; The Buckeye State; and Brown Butter Almond Brittle.
Over the years Jeni has created uncommon flavors by reaching out statewide to farmers to help her execute whatever new idea she’s dreamed up and more and more she says she’s come to think of Ohio as “one big city, or one big sustainable community” working toward one goal: to bring delicious, real food to the people. Heinen’s, in business since 1929, has a long-standing tradition of doing just that.
Bonus: Snowville Creamery’s pristine milk and cream (from grass-fed Meigs County cows) and Mackenzie Creamery’s cheese can also be found on shelves in all Heinen’s locations. Jeni uses Mackenzie’s goat cheese in her Goat Cheese with Cognac Fig Sauce Ice Cream and Snowville’s milk and cream in all her ice creams and yogurts.
Today’s good news for longtime Northeast Ohio fans of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams arrives on the heels of Jeni’s recent announcement to open a scoop shop next year in Chagrin Falls (67 N. Main St.). Jeni’s first full-fledged scoop shop outside of Columbus will feature all the parfaits, macarons and Signature and Seasonal Flavors sold in Jeni’s seven Central Ohio shops and is slated to open in Spring.
If you have not tried the pumpkin with five spices, go for it. It is pure joy!

Jeni!
Thank you so much. I won't have to go so long between my near daily cravings anymore. I live near Akron and only get down to the Columbus area every few months.

I'm disappointed. Seems to me like it's more in keeping with Jeni's vibe to locate in a walkable urban neighborhood like Tremont or West 25th Street than one of the far eastern bubs. Chagrin is great but not a place that comes to mind when I think of the cutting edge of sustainable businesses.

Jillian, Tremont is super-cool, and someday maybe we'll be somewhere near 25th street, but it just didn't make sense for us right now. The spot where our Chagrin Falls shop will open, though, we think, is as walkable as anywhere else, and we hope you'll check it out when the doors open this spring.

Congrats! We just found out about Jeni's via the freezer in our local Heinen's here in Brecksville. The first one we tried was the goat cheese and cognac figs. It was unusual and fun - really quite good, but very figgy. :-) Looking forward to working through the rest of the lineup!

you should make Creme Brulee ice-cream. creamy custard, burnt sugar carmel swirls, and crunchy burnt sugar pieces
so good. Haagen dazs makes on that is amazing. ben & jerks is horrible. but you would make it the best ever

My family and I have been doing our grocery shopping here for years. We absolutely love Heinen's!
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Some of them even greet us by name. In the few times that I have had an issue here, it has always been corrected in a prompt and reasonable manner.
The products are always top notch and the store is easy to navigate through. The store is clean and was also remodeled a few years ago.
So, you may be asking... why did I knock off a star? Well, the parking lot is very confusing and there are always clueless, impatient, and rude customers driving down the wrong aisle and cutting you off. Although, they sometimes have a police officer on hand to direct traffic, so that's a plus.
I have found that Heinen's is more personalized and friendly than other grocery stores I have been to. I highly recommend shopping here!
