The National Association for the Speciality Food Trade's Summer Fancy Food show recently wrapped up in Washington D.C., which means NASFT's sofi Award winners have been named.
Prestigious 39th-annual sofi Awards, we're thrilled to report, went to two of our world-renowned suppliers, Askinosie Chocolate and the Gracious Gourmet. (The acrynym "sofi" stands for "Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation" and represents the best of the best. Consider the awards the Oscars of the food world.)
- Askinosie Chocolate, America's premiere bean-to-bar chocolate maker headed up by globe-trotting Shawn Askinosie, earned Silver Finalist trophies for its Hey Hey Hazelnut, a ridiculously delicious hazelenut-chocolate spread, and its divine Davao, Phillippines White Chocolate Bar.
- Gracious Gourmet, which prepares the fig-almond sauce we use in our wintertime favorite, Goat Cheese with Cognac Fig Sauce, won a Gold Award for its amazing Spiced Sour Cherry Spread.
Congratulations, Askinosie Chocolate and the Gracious Gourmet!
