The Sublime Holiday Collection

  • The Sublime Holiday Collection
These ice creams, if you’ll let them, evoke the weight of time, the spooky and wondrous magic in the world. Smoky plum pudding pairs Dickens with a fading Goya. Black currant, like a velvet drape, holds back all the light. Golden honey, nutty and aromatic cumin, ceremonial frankincense. Ancient gifts from the Magi. Darkest chocolate cake strewn with blood-red cherries from Bologna, the city of Dante. They remind that everything is tiny and everything is infinite. Comfort and joy. Bite by bite. Allow these flavors to transport you to the other side of sublime. This holiday, we’ll be there, too.

I was incredibly surprised to see this selling at Williams Sonoma, where I had picked up a holiday job, in New Mexico! And not only that, they/we had put it on display at the front island with the Cuisinart ice-cream makers!

Even though I am a vegan (you might say a bad one - ), I would ALWAYS break 'vegan code' and have Jeni's ice cream every time I was in Columbus. So I bought the book the second I saw it, even though I have no intention of making dairy-based ice creams at home. The photographs are absolutely stunning, the design work is top-notch, and I love reading about the history and backstory. This is a cookbook I recommend to EVERYONE who comes in the store :)

Hi, Jeni's,
I'm a friend of Amanda Anderson, and my husband got me your book and an icecream maker for Chistmas! (or, wait, was that a gift for himself ... Hmmm). Anyways, our three year old son is sitting here on the couch looking through the cook book just now. I said to him,"be careful with that, son, because Mommy is going to use that book to make you ice cream." He got very serious, began to study it most intently, and then said, "oh! This is very interesting!" It was cut enough that I wanted to share.

Happy New Year,
Erica Carlson
