Everyone, we're hosting a special event at 7 p.m. Monday Feb. 20 in our Clintonville shop: Bringing Home the Bacon—A Talk About Sustainable Business and the Beauty of Better Bacon, by Ari Weinzweig, co-founder of Zingerman's.
Admission is free and open to all, and Jeni will also sign copies of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home, which will be available in the shop.
Zingerman's, founded 30 years ago in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has been called "the coolest small company in America" (Inc. magazine) and "the center of my gastro-deli universe" (Mario Batali). We've always been fans of their incredible food, creativity, and dedication to doing it all the right way.
On Monday night Ari will be speaking about sustainable business and better bacon—themes we all can get behind. Ari will sign copies of his books, Zingerman's Guide to Good Leading, Part 1: A Lapsed Anarchist's Approach to Building a Great Business and Zingerman's Guide to Better Bacon.
"Zingerman's," as a recent press release states, "started as a small delicatessen with two partners, two employees, and 25 seats. Now it's nationally known as the Zingerman's Community of Businesses—eight different businesses, all located in the Ann Arbor area, each with its own unique specialty, employing over 500 people, doing over $40,000,000 in annual sales, all combining to create one very unique organization.
"Aside from all the traditionally-made, full flavored foods that Zingerman's produces, co-founding partner Ari Weinzweig has also authored a series of books. Each volume brings readers an in-depth
understanding of Zingerman’s approach to food, and also, an inside look at the progressive way that the organization operates."
See you all at 7 p.m. Monday at our Clintonville shop, 4247 N. High St., 43212 (614-447-0500).
