If you've been to any of our shops lately, you probably noticed some new additions to the decor. Besides new posters and hand-painted farmer-stand signs, you'll see some colorful, patterned pennants hanging wildly from the ceilings. Last week, our creative team traveled from shop to shop hanging all of those darling pennants.
When brainstorming ways to transform our shops for the summer, we knew we wanted lots of color -- something that reflects the homespun energy and excitement of the Ohio growing season.
Jeni's Mother, Jacki, and Grandmother, Bette, carefully selected each fabric with our ice creams in mind: deep purples and burgundies of blueberries and black raspberries. Pinks and reds of strawberries. Green of peppermint. Yellow of sweet corn. Orange of pumpkins. Then they expertly sewed these gorgeous pennants before handing them over to our team, who strung them on twine. Beautiful!
Because we source so much of our summer ingredients from local farmers, we loved the idea of tracing our summer flavors back to the farms that grow our ingredients. Inspired by Rife's Market in Grandview and countless roadside farmer stands all along the country roads of Ohio, we hand-painted wooden farmers signs.
HAH! There is the comment box. I just didn't scroll down far enough to see it.
I was in the shop this past week to buy a couple of pints and didn't see the pennants. I must have JUST missed them.
